Jim Dixon
Jim Dixon, a seasoned baseball professional and passionate mentor, is the founder and owner of Next Level Baseball Academy. A Raton High School standout, Jim led his team to a state championship as a pitcher, showcasing his talent and love for the game early on. He continued his career at Trinidad Junior College (1991-1992), where he played in the Junior College World Series.
In 1992, Jim was drafted as a pitcher by the Colorado Rockies but chose to further his education and career at New Mexico State University (1992-1993). As a Division 1 athlete, he was recognized as a Big West pitcher, solidifying his reputation as an elite player.
In 1993, Jim signed with the Chicago White Sox, beginning a five-year professional career. During his tenure, he set a consecutive strikeout record and held the lowest ERA (1.96) in the Carolina League—a testament to his dominance on the mound.
Beyond his achievements in baseball, Jim has been married for 27 years and is the proud father of six children. His legacy continues through his oldest son, who is currently playing at New Mexico Junior College.
Jim’s vision for Next Level Baseball Academy is rooted in his desire to provide New Mexico players with the development and opportunities to excel at the collegiate and professional levels. With decades of experience and a heart for mentoring young athletes, Jim is dedicated to shaping the future of baseball in New Mexico and beyond.
